The only thing Apple folded is your money into their pockets. But 2025 might just be the year that you finally fold. Literally. Like, I’ve been using the Fold 7 for nearly 2 months now, and Samsung has not only fixed the compromises, but also perfected features that Apple, well, let’s just say still, hasn’t unfolded. See, the iPhone 17 was just announced, and except for majorly a beauty makeover, there’s really not much that you can do differently on the iPhone 17 Pro. You might as well get yourself the iPhone 15 Pro or the iPhone 16 Pro, and it won’t change more than 5% of how you use your phone. That’s how far behind they are when it comes to innovation.
So, if you’ve been using an iPhone or any Android flagship for that matter, let me give you four reasons, okay, just four, as to why switching to a Fold makes more sense than ever.

First reason, it’s just more comfortable. Now, you know, many have had concerns over things like, “Oh, fold phones, they’re so uncomfortable. They’re bulky. They’re so delicate.” Well, Samsung just folded those excuses into half. So much so that they made it lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Who’s bulky now? And it’s not even thick anymore. I mean, look at this. Just as thick or as thin as your regular phones. It’s light for everyday use. It’s easy inside your pockets. And when unfolded, it’s unbelievably thinner than, you know, regular phones. In fact, to give you an idea, just look at the Fold 5, the Fold 6, and now the Fold 7.

Also, the Crease. Sure, you can feel it, but it’s virtually non-existent to look at. And that’s the thing. You know, people think of the older fold phones as base. Don’t. This is something else.
Reason number two, this phone, it just lets you do more. Just forget about, you know, all the technical things. Think about things you do every day. Like, you know, you’re trying to do a video call when you’re doing something and you’re struggling to balance your iPhone. You do that. With the Fold 7, it’s got a kickstand of its own. And that’s useful in many other ways, including something like this. Or let’s say you’re shooting a vlog. Not only can you see yourself while you shoot a crisp 4K video using the primary camera, but also split the screen with your script on the side. Even viewing photos and videos on the phone’s inner display is just so much cooler than, you know, watching it on the iPhone. Think about reading messages or emails. The inside display just lets you see more atonce, read more at once, even an Excel sheet just so much easier to go around. But on the iPhone, I mean, what the heck is this? In fact, if you use Chad GPD a lot, think about your desktop experience, and you’ll find yourself in a very similar zone when you use the Fold 7’s main display. There’s also some extreme use cases that’s not for everyone, but nevertheless, it shows you the possibility of what could be. You can connect a keyboard and quite frankly, just write a whole documentout. Connect your phone to a monitor, a mouse, and edit a photo in Lightroom on a big display. You can use your phone as a goddamn monitor for when you’re shooting a video. And then on the other hand, there is this, you know, super expensive, doesn’t fold, doesn’t do any of this stuff. Almost makes me question not Apple, but people who pay for this stuff and they’re nowhere close to where real technology is today. Also, I just want to point out that Samsung phones can completely replace your wallettoday. Like in Samsung wallet, I’ve got all my credit cards, debit cards, UPI, and even Digilocker to keep my RC license, co certificates, everything. And I can just tap to pay on any credit card machine. And while Apple Pay does have that functionality in a couple of countries, but in countries like India, it doesn’t work. It’s just a fancy gallery where you have your tickets and QR codes and stuff. Reason number three is AI, which we know is still at concept level at Apple headquarters. I mean, somuch so that people have started calling slow people running on Apple intelligence. It’s a poor joke, but still an insult. So for example, Fold 7 has Google Gemini which is an actual useful AI assistant and it works very differently on Samsung phones in a way that it can integrate with native apps on the Fold 7. Like you know I can ask Gemini when is FC26 launching for PlayStation and it’s going to give me a response. Now see what I can do after that. I can ask it to add to my calendar and also remind me 2 days in advance.
So, not only does it add the entry to the calendar, but also creates a reminder with a notification for 2 days prior to the day. Or let me give you another example. Hey Google, my sync has salt deposits and it looks bad. How can I clean it? And now I can share this response with a specific contact on WhatsApp. So then Gemini crafts that message, integrates with WhatsApp, and asks me if I want to send it. Now you’re going to just say I’m lazy. Hold on. If I can do something faster with just aprompt, I’m going to do it. Sure, I can Google it, find the answer, copy it, open WhatsApp, search for the contact, paste the response, and then send it. That makes me hardworking or stupid. Let me know in the comments. And by the way, that’s just Google Gemini.
I can do a whole slew of things with Galaxy AI, like make edits in my photo, which are incredibly hard to tell if they were generated or real. Move things around and make them more hard to believe yet believable. Convert entire conversationsinto a quickto- read summary that can be shared, and so on. In fact, there’s a whole video on Galaxy AI that I’ve done. I’ll leave a link over here. So, watch it if you’ve got some time. Point being, AI on this works and it’s more than what I can say about this.
Reason number four, it’s not just a fold. It’s a flagship fold. You still get the most powerful performance with a flagship Snapdragon chip, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 top tier protection at the back, Gorilla Glass Ceramic Shield 2 in the front forthe cover display, and that display, it’s convincingly better than that on the iPhone Pros. just the colors, the accuracy, the sharpness. It just really looks absolutely gorgeous. Very premium build, looks stunning. I mean, it’s the kind of tech that you won’t see in most hands. And even the cameras this time are upgraded to 200 megapixel, pretty much like the S25 Ultra. Now, I did take some photos from both the iPhone 16 Pro and the Fold 7. Comparable, if not better. In some cases, you could say theiPhone does better, but then in many photos, you could say the Fold 7 did better. But just look at some of these photos I took from the Fold 7 in regular daylight or even like a couple of portraits that I took while I was traveling or even these low light pictures. They came out absolutely amazing. And even if you use it for shooting videos, I think it did a fabulous job. You know, be it regular daylight or in low light or even when I recorded it in log mode and then color graded them for this dreamy, creamyfootage. Though I do admit that the iPhone 16 Pro phones and of course the upcoming iPhone 17 Pros are still better when it comes to shooting videos. Although if you’re just shooting videos for, you know, personal casual purposes, it still does a very good job. Now, if you’re really planning to switch from an iPhone to the Fold 7, there are a couple of things that you should know. Switching means transferring all your data from the iPhone to the Fold, including WhatsApp. So, there’s an appfor that uh by Samsung called Smart Switch, which you can use to make all the transfers including photos, videos, contacts, messages, all of that. And within WhatsApp, there’s an option to move your chats to Android. So, that should do it. Second is battery. And not that the iPhone batteries are great. Okay, I’ve got the Pro and you know, I do have to charge it sometime in the evening just so that I don’t have battery anxiety. That is going to be the case with the Fold 7 as well, unlessyou’re not a heavy user, in which case it’ll get you through the day. And third, if you’re heavy into iMessage and FaceTime, that’s the one thing you’re not going to be able to do with the Phone 7. I know it’s a very US- ccentric problem, but nevertheless, I thought you should know. You know, I’ve heard many people and tech reviewers say that this phone is not for everybody. On the contrary, I think it is for everybody. You want a regular phone, you’ve got it. It’s thin, lightweight, the cover screenis wide enough as a normal size phone. You want a bigger screen, you want productivity, you got that, too. The option is always with you and it’s always up to you as to what you want to use. It’s super simple and super packed with features at the same time. With this or the iPhone 15 Pro or the iPhone 14 Pro or even with the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro, how you use a phone doesn’t change. And that’s why Apple users, maybe it’s time to fold. I’ll see you in the next one.
